ERP, Accounting, and Computer Technology: Getting All You Can From Your System

Are you getting all that you can from your software?

Many business owners we talk to have many opportunities to use their software to improve efficiency, add clients, sell more, streamline processes, and other business boosting techniques.

You can reserve a place at the next Managers' IT Roundtable.

But do you know what your software will do or what best practices are related to the kind of software you have?

IT Managers Roundtable: Meetings are monthly at the Crescent Club of Memphis at Poplar and RidgewayIT Managers Roundtable: Meetings are monthly at the Crescent Club of Memphis at Poplar and RidgewayHave you ever wondered how other businesses use their software? Or wanted to ask advice on whether to upgrade or not?

Do you wonder if you should embrace or avoid Windows Vista? Have you made the move to Office 2007? What about automating your inventory management, scheduling, shipping or marketing? Or have you considered open source sofware? Do you know the latest developments in these areas?

In some cases, you may not even know what's available. Even more, there's so much stuff out there in the market that no one can know about all of it.

Questions About the Managers' IT Roundtable

In a recent email, I asked for feedback from people who had attended or thought about attending. I also had several emails from people who weren't quite sure what the Managers' IT Roundtable was about. Here are the clarifications:

  • Managers' IT Roundtable is not really for IT people. It's for managers and other business people who use IT, and want to use it better.
  • The Roundtable isn't a planned presentation. We'll jump off topic if someone has a question or comment of interest to the group.
  • We're looking for a constant group of about 10-12 people. Above this number, we plan to start having more than one roundtable per month.
  • Overall, our goal is to help you get more out of your existing technology.
  • The Roundtable is open to clients, guests, and business associates by invitation.
  • NO selling is permitted (by anyone).
  • We're still trying to find a good time and day...if you want to come and can't because of the time, give us some feedback (e.g. 2nd Tuesday at 10)

That's why we created the IT Managers' Roundtable

Here is your opportunity to network with and learn from other businesses: the Data Guidance Group Managers IT Roundtable. Meetings are held monthly at the Crescent Club of Memphis, 6075 Poplar Ave # 909. And--at least for now--it's free. No cost and no obligation.

A typical agenda looks like:

  • 8:15 - 8:30 Continental Breakfast/Coffee/Juice
  • 8:30 - 8:45 Introductions
  • 8:45 - 9:15 Manager's review and demonstration (high level) of the monthly topic
  • 9:15 - 10:00 Open discussion, Q & A, Selectin of topic(s) for next Roundtable

This meeting is limited to the first 12 individuals who register. Technical talk is off-topic.
